Americana Highways brings you this premiere of “Shaking” from the HawtThorns’ upcoming album, Morning Sun, due on August 9th. Morning Sun was produced, engineered and mixed by Eric Corne (40 Below Records). “Shaking” is KP Hawthorn on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Johnny Hawthorn on lead vocals, electric guitars and lap steel, Matt Lucich on drums, Eliot Lorango on bass, Kaitlin Wolfberg on strings and Sasha Smith on keys.

“Shaking” starts off with bold lyrics “Our timing is always off, that’s our history my friend,” and builds up to break down with some “ooo ooo ooo” harmonies.  In a classic tale of heartache and two ships passing in the night, over fresh musical energy, the HawtThorns’ Morning Sun is a shining bright spot this season.

“Shaking” is a fun summer jangle with lots of energy, guitars and harmonies on the outside, but when you peel back a layer or two there is a tune about two people who can never quite get it together, despite all their efforts. We find ourselves in different phases of life at different times; some days everything lines up and the timing is right for a real connection. Other times we find ourselves doing just the opposite of what someone else needs from us. “ – KP HawtThorn
