Taking its name from the Howlin’ Wolf classic, Smokestack Lightnin’ is Los Angeles’s inaugural indie blues and retro soul music festival. It's a festival atmosphere in a club setting, with authentic food, craft beer, vinyl vendors and a 2nd stage with up and comers and local scene favorites. The cross-pollination of blues and soul has served as the foundation from everything from hip hop to rock to jazz. Much like California itself, the festival is inspired by forward thinking artists, unafraid to take roots music to new places. With a lineup curated for cross generational appeal, our mission is to engage and grow the audience of boundary pushing roots music in LA.
